Zach on the attack
As we head into another Holiday weekend we are grateful that we still have treatment and hope. Zachary has been having fun with friends and family. This morning we are all going to watch his brother Gage play his first football game for the Plainfield North High School freshmen football team (where does the time go) it seems like only yesterday he started playing the pee wee football. He is hardly pee wee anmore (I am not sure he was pee wee when he was playing pee wee but I digress). What I am saying is what a great day that we have unfolding and as I dare to think about the next few days quite possibly the best Labor Day weekend ever. Sunday we get to gather with many of our favorite friends (we love them all) for a first annual pig roast. The pig does not stand a chance when my boys and I take a crack at it. Not sure how we get to the babyback portion but we will figure it out. Hard to believe how much enjoyment we have gotten out of Arnold on Green Acres, Miss Piggy on Sesame Street and of course the pig called Babe but still, we will eat their distant relative with plenty of barbeque sauce.
Zachary has a full set of scans next week. Mri of the head and neck, CT of the chest and then a bone scan. Please pray that this has not progressed into any other area of his body and that we weather this scanxiety well. Zach was also informed that his chemo treatment will not end in November as we had all originaly hoped for. He is going to go on a maintenance program that could go on for 1, 2 or even 3 years. I can not say that we are thrilled by this message but if it continues to keep this voracious killer at bay and God willing it will extend his life and snuff this out then we will plan to make this part of our daily lives. Zach will get his reconstruction sometime the begining of next year as well.
As the last part of this post I ask that everyone pray for all the cancer kids but right now immediate attention needs to drawn to Danny Zabicki. He needs prayers from as many people as possible to have the heavenly father shine his grace for healing upon him. His page can be read right here at this same site Zach is bloged at. Just put in dannyzab. He has a Bite Me Cancer Army that is easy to become part of just one little prayer and you are in. This kid is really a tough one and an inspiration to all!!! Please send the prayers to the Left coast.... dannyzab is the carepage site
We will post again later...
